Am I Eligible to Play for

FC Bath?

We  welcome  all new players to FC Bath, however, you will need to satisfy a couple of basic criteria in order to be ready to join one of our teams.

1. Have you attended 6 SFC coaching sessions?

In order to demonstrate commitment you will need to have recently attended a minimum of six coaching sessions with our 'Partner' coaching school SOCCER FOOTBALL COACHING (SFC). Once you have attended your first 6 coaching sessions you can complete the FC Bath Player Registration Form.

2. Are you regularly attending SFC sessions?

You will need to be regularly attending SFC coaching sessions.

3. Advanced Players committed to Professional Academies

The only exception to criteria (2) is for existing FC Bath players who are currently unable to attend due to commitments with professional Club Development Centres/Academies. The FC Bath Club Manager will need to authorise players who fall into this category.

4. Are you ready to start playing?

A player will need to have a basic level of ability before they are ready to play in an FC Bath team. This basic skill threshold is to ensure that a player won't be totally out of their depth playing in  a match environment. FC Bath will consult with SFC coaches for advice on a players readiness to play for an FC Bath team.

5. Is there space in an FC Bath Team?

Each FC Bath team is limited by the League to a maximum number of players that can be registered to play. There will need to be space available in an FC Bath team for you child to play. Once you have submitted the FC Bath Player Registration we will get back to you to confirm whether we have a space in a team for you. Any questions please email  Secretary@fcBath.com

Note: Places in an FC Bath team will initially be allocated to players from the previous season, before being offered to new players.

6. How do we allocate new players to a team?

If there is more than one FC Bath Team in a child's age group new players will be allocated according to a combination of criteria.

 a)  Where FC Bath operates a 'Development Team' playing at a higher level and a 'Club Team' playing in a regular League, a player will be allocated according to their ability.

 b) When all FC Bath teams in an age group are 'Club Teams' new players will be allocated according to the relative number of players in each team and in order to maintain an equal strength between the teams. The Club's aim is always to have a roughly equal number of players across teams so that players are invited to the maximum number of matches.

 c) Where there are a similar number of players across teams and the teams are of equal strength then players will be allocated according other criteria such as:

 i. Parents geographical preference ( i.e. which League a team plays in

ii. Friendships with existing players in a team ( e.g. school friends )

iii. When a new player will be lift sharing with another player in a team

The Club Manager will adjudicate the allocation of new players to FC Bath teams.

We look forward to you playing for FC Bath. If you have any further questions please email  Secretary@fcBath.com
